Got Email Problem?

Published by Ricky at 3:12 pm under BizPartner, Hosting

This is applicable to BizPartner email hosting customers only.

Recently many customers who are using Streamyx with dynamic IP cannot send out emails . This is due to a change in TMnet’s policy to fight spamming. TMnet has blocked outgoing server port 25.

As a workaround, we have provided port 28 for you to send out emails. Please change the port number in your email software (Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird etc.) to 28. Then you should be able to send emails.

If you are still not able to send or receive emails, there must be a reason. Please check your settings very carefully, including watching out for extra spaces and fullstops. Years ago one outstation customer had been facing problems for months. At last they had to send in their laptop to Cyberjaya to check, only to find that their settings were incorrect.

Some common mistakes in settings are as below:

  • Please make sure your account name (username) is username/domain.com, not just username.
  • Please make sure you turn on SMTP authentication (”My server requires authentication”).
  • Please make sure you turn OFF Secure Password Authentication.

In some rare cases, your IP address may have been banned. You can go to http://www.WhatIsMyIP.com, take note of your IP address, turn off and on your router in order to get a new IP address, and try to send or receive emails again.

If you still face any problem, please email us at support@bizpartner.com.my or send a technical support request by SMS here.
